H.L Groen is a visual artist from Windsor, Connecticut. With a Bachelor's degree of fine arts from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley College, she has been creating art for over a decade, with an emphasis on painting. Heather is an art educator, and has been instructing young students in Hartford, Connecticut, for the past seven years. Her goal as an educator is to inspire the inner artist in each of her students. As an artist, Heather explores humanity's search for self through spirituality and religion. Is a representation of God created by humanity necessary to achieve spiritual fulfillment? This is the question approached in her work from many angles. Heady stuff, but she imbues each painting with passion, and takes great pleasure in the act (so she assures). Her images are filled with expression, bold colors, and dominant, wistful, strokes that infuse the works with life and energy. H.L Groen lives in Windsor with her husband Eric (also an artist) and her delightful daughter, Sophie.
